David Butler serves as Senior Director, Strategic Communications for Consumer Reports. Based in CR’s Washington, D.C. office, he is responsible for media strategy for a broad variety of issues, including technology and privacy, auto safety, healthcare, personal finance, and product and food safety. David previously served as senior director of corporate communications for XM Satellite Radio. He also worked on Capitol Hill as the press secretary for U.S. Rep. Bud Cramer. This is his second tour of duty at CU, having served as a media director in the Washington office from 1999 to 2003. David has more than 15 years of experience in communications for non-profit, for-profit, and federal institutions.
