With insurers beginning to file their rates for 2015, consumer and public interest groups from across the country are urging the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to make all insurance rate information available to the public. Though HHS has stated that most, if not all, rate information is to be made public, as of May 1, 2014 it has not yet been made available by the agency.
Consumers Union was joined by 70 groups from across the country in sending this April 23, 2104 letter to HHS Secretary Sebelius asking for swift action to improve transparency around health premium rate increases.
