CR submitted comments to the OSTP on public and private sector use of biometric technologies. CR outlined the types of biometric technology being deployed, potential use cases, and highlighted the dangers to consumers for certain biometric technologies that employ pseudoscientific claims. Recommendations include updating and better enforcing antidiscrimination and advertising substantiation law with concerning AI-enabled biometric technology, and advising against technologies like emotion recognition being used to determine someone’s access to life opportunities.
