Consumer Reports submitted public comments to Nevada’s Department of Environmental Protection in support of the state’s adoption of Advanced Clean Cars Standards. The state is considering these standards and accepting technical public comments. CR said this is an innovative program that can reduce climate pollution by making it easier for Nevadans to find electric vehicles to buy at local auto dealerships. The Advanced Clean Cars program would ensure that, by 2025, at least 5 percent of auto sales in the state are electric vehicles. If Nevada implements these standards, they will save Nevada consumers money, combat climate change, and deliver healthier air, CR said.
