SUMMARY: Consumers Union, the policy and mobilization arm of the independent, non-profit Consumer Reports, writes to express opposition to the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA). The bill not only builds on the deeply flawed framework of the ACHA, but makes it worse by proposing steeper cuts to Medicaid. Instead of making healthcare more affordable for middle class families, the BCRA would lead to millions of Americans losing coverage, jeopardizing their health and financial well-being.
