CU Comments to USDA on the Proposed Rule on Modernization of Swine Slaughter Inspection

SUMMARY: Consumers Union, the advocacy division of Consumer Reports, comments on proposal by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service for modernization of swine slaughter inspection, and urges that it be withdrawn, since available evidence suggests that it would not increase, and may well decrease, food safety.
