CR Letter to Senate Commerce Committee on S. 151, TRACED Act

DESCRIPTION: Letter to Senate Commerce Committee, from Consumer Reports, National Consumer Law Center, Consumer Federation of America, and Consumer Action in support of the Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act, or TRACED Act. The bill would require implementation of a caller ID authentication system for identifying falsely identified (“spoofed”) robocalls, and for strengthening the FCC’s civil enforcement authority against intentional robocalling violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
