Description: Joint comments from NCLC, CR, and others in support of petition by American Bankers Association and other lenders for a temporary clarification/exception to the TCPS’s prior consent requirement, to allow lenders to make robocalls to existing borrowers to inform them of special relief or accommodation being offered for existing home or car loans on account of the COVID-19 emergency. The support is conditioned on safeguards to ensure that the calls are limited in number and are made solely for the purpose of making the consumer aware of the special relief or accommodations.
