Welcome to Consumer Reports Advocacy

Consumer Reports is an independent nonprofit organization that works for a fair, safe and transparent marketplace.

Since we were founded as Consumers Union in 1936, we have advocated for the rights of all consumers. Now, we are united under the Consumer Reports name, bringing together our trusted testing, research, journalism, and advocacy.

We hope you will partner with us and our six million members for a better world.

Healthcare Costs

money-medicineRising healthcare costs are a critical policy issue: governments make tradeoffs to pay for Medicare and Medicaid, employers limit salary increases to pay for health coverage, and families across the country make tough choices every day about getting the care they need. Consumers Union is working to produce clear, consumer-friendly resources, advise advocates on addressing healthcare cost issues, and promote dialogue on how to achieve solutions that reduce costs without compromising quality or access to care.
