CU Letter to US Secretary of Education supporting implementation of the state authorization rule for postsecondary distance education programs

Consumers Union, the advocacy division of Consumer Reports, strongly supports the 2016 rule, and urge the Department to move forward with implementation. It adds clarity to the regulatory framework applicable to distance education providers, in recognition of the changing landscape for postsecondary education that increasingly involves distance education providers marketing their programs to students in multiple states.
