In advance of Thursday’s Federal Communications Commission Oversight hearing, Consumers Union writes in support of FCC Chairman Wheeler’s final proposal to drive competition and innovation in the television set-top box market. The Chairman’s proposal would free consumers from being trapped into leasing costly, outdated set-top boxes from their pay-TV providers and open the market to new offerings.
