CU comments to HHS in support of maintaining rule against forced arbitration in nursing home residency contracts

SUMMARY: Consumers Union, the policy and mobilization arm of Consumer Reports, comments in support of the Department of Health and Human Services proposal to strengthen and clarify the standards and protections for residents of federally-licensed nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. The prohibition against forced arbitration in residency contracts is a crucial to ensuring that residents and their families can hold nursing home owners and managers accountable for complying with standards and protections.
