Consumer Reports was invited to testify before the Texas Senate Committee on Business and Commerce during a hearing on artificial intelligence.
CR submitted written testimony, delivered oral testimony, and took Senators’ questions during the hearing on August 27th. CR’s testimony focused on subjects including transparency, fairness and bias, implications for consumers’ privacy, validity issues and ‘snake oil’ products, implications for third party testing, and more. CR also answered questions about legislative efforts other states have undertaken, and made policy recommendations.
