Description: The House Judiciary Committee’s Antitrust Subcommittee held a hearing February 25, following up on its year-long investigation and its staff report on the market power of dominant online platforms, and platform practices that impair competition and harm consumers and the marketplace. This hearing begins the Subcommittee’s consideration of proposals to address that problem. Our letter highlighted several proposals, including proposals to make the structure of the online platform marketplace more conducive to competition and the consumer benefits it promotes, and to strengthen antitrust law and enforcement in ways that will benefit the online marketplace as well as other parts of the economy.
