Consumer Reports letter in support of SF 70, legislation that would ban the use of PFAS (Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) in food packaging. Exposure to PFAS has been associated with immunotoxicity, cancer, thyroid disease, birth defects, and decreased sperm quality. PFAS chemicals have been found to reduce the immune response to childhood vaccines and may increase the risk of infectious diseases.
