Letter by Consumer Federation of America, Consumer Reports and National Consumers League strongly in support of the Stopping Grinch Bots Act, which would protect consumers by banning the predatory use of automated software programs, or “shopping bots,” that circumvent security and inventory controls on retail e-commerce sites, and empower the Federal Trade Commission and Attorneys General to enforce consumer protection laws to protect shoppers against their use.
