Consumer Reports letter in support of HB 275, a bill being considered in Maryland that would ban the intentional use of PFAS in firefighting foam and protective equipment, rugs and carpets, and food packaging. Some of the toxic effects associated with exposure to these chemicals include immunotoxicity, cancer, thyroid disease, birth defects, and decreased sperm quality.
