CR comments to FTC on Contact Lens Rule

SUMMARY: The Federal Trade Commission is proposing changes to its Contact Lens Rule, which requires the eye doctor to give patients a copy of their prescription so they can purchase the lenses where they choose. This promotes competition and lower prices for consumers. CR’s comments support the FTC’s proposal to strengthen the rule to make it more effective, while recommending additional changes to better ensure that the patient receives the prescription and that patient health and safety is not compromised.
