In a statement to the Senate Antitrust Committee for its December 7, 2016 hearing on the impact of the AT&T/Time Warner merger, Consumers Union outlines the potential for AT&T to use its new vertical reach to restrict choices for consumers and shut out or burden its competitors. The potential harms are very real and serious concerns, warranting the thorough attention of the Justice Department, the FCC, and this Subcommittee.
