Consumer Reports urges Colorado senators to vote no on weakening the state’s right to repair law

Consumer Reports urged Colorado’s senators to vote no on SB 26-090 and retain the right to repair for Colorado’s citizens. The bill seeks to exempt information technology equipment that is intended to be used in critical infrastructure from the state’s existing right to repair law passed in 2024. Consumer Reports supported that law, and believes this bill would weaken it substantially to the detriment of Colorado’s consumers and the state’s overall resiliency.
