Consumer Reports submitted comments to the Environmental Protection Agency in strong support of the agency’s proposal to restore California’s waiver under the Clean Air Act for the state’s Advanced Clean Cars (ACC) program. The nonprofit, independent CR said restoration of state authority for this program is vital for expanding consumer choice in the light duty vehicle market and achieving national climate goals. CR included a petition signed by 48,599 of its members who support EPA taking this action to restore state authority to set clean car standards. Four CR members testified at a June 2nd EPA hearing in favor of this action.
