Consumer Reports and Privacy Groups Comment on CPPA’s Invitation for Preliminary Comment on Proposed Rulemaking Under SB 362 (the Delete Act)

Consumer Reports led a coalition of privacy groups including the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC) in submitting comments to the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) in response to its Request for Preliminary Comment for Proposed Rulemaking Under SB 362 (the Delete Act).

The Agency is proposing rules to implement the “accessible deletion mechanism,” which will allow consumers to delete all of their personal information from the state’s registered data brokers with a single request.
