Consumer Reports joined with a broad coalition of more than 60 national, state and local organizations to call on the House Financial Services Committee to oppose efforts to undermine the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The coalition’s letter urges the committee to reject the TABS Act, which would replace the CFPB’s stable funding mechanism and subject it to the annual appropriations process in Congress.
