A distinguished nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience in institutional advancement, Shar Taylor joined CR in 2016. In her role as VP, Chief Social Impact Officer, she leads CR’s policy, mobilization, and philanthropic partnership divisions to drive strategic and executional alignment with the goal of building and mobilizing a community of consumers to address marketplace failures.

Shar has a successful track record in fostering strategic relationships with the national philanthropic community and creating partnerships that extend the reach and relevance of mission-driven organizations. She is passionate about how nonprofits can work effectively to fulfill their mission and have measurable impact in partnership with their stakeholders.

Before joining CR, Shar served as Senior Director, Philanthropic Partnerships at The Pew Charitable Trusts where she  worked with philanthropists and built relationships within the philanthropic community. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Development at the National Building Museum and held fundraising positions at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and at WETA, a public radio and television station in Arlington, Va.

Shar earned her B.A. in drama from the School of English and American Studies at the University of East Anglia in the U.K. and is Trustee Emeritus of The Theatre Lab School for the Dramatic Arts in Washington, D.C.
