Dena Mendelsohn, JD, MPH, serves as Senior Policy Counsel for Consumer Reports. Based in CR’s West Coast office, Ms. Mendelsohn is an attorney, policy researcher, and advocate with experience working within government and from non-profits. Her work at CR focuses on implementation of healthcare reform, particularly in California. She seeks to engage healthcare consumers and activists throughout the state, and nationwide, on issues related to health insurance premium rate review, health information technology (HIT) and patient safety, and healthcare price and quality transparency, with an eye towards increasing access to high quality, affordable, healthcare. Her previous professional roles were as a health policy analyst at the Pacific Business Group on Health, where she specialized in healthcare cost and quality measurement, and as a budget and planning analyst for the state of Missouri. Prior to that role, she practiced law as a private attorney.
