Charlotte Vallaeys is a senior policy analyst with expertise in sustainable agriculture, nutrition and food labeling. Charlotte leads Consumer Reports’ efforts to ensure that food labels are clear, accurate and meaningful as part of the organization’s commitment to support a safer, fairer and more sustainable food system. She represents consumers in her interactions with government agencies on food labeling issues, including the National Organic Standards Board and the Secretary of Agriculture on the USDA Organic seal’s standards. Charlotte is responsible for the food label ratings and reviews for Consumer Reports. Charlotte graduated from Santa Clara University (B.S.) and has advanced degrees from Harvard University (M.T.S.) and Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy (M.S.).
